Alex Kubo is the VP of Ecommerce & Marketing at Burrow, a startup that’s reinventing the furniture industry. Burrow’s mission is to offer clever, comfortable, and long-lasting furniture to satisfy the evolving needs of modern consumers.
In 2018, Burrow opened a flagship showroom in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood, was named one of the 10 most innovative retail brands in the world by Fast Company, and the Burrow sofa was named of the 50 best inventions of the year by TIME. In 2019, Burrow launched into new furniture categories including rugs and coffee tables, and grew revenue 50% year-over-year.
More recently, Burrow sales from Black Friday 2020 were 5x that of 2019 Black Friday sales. Alex joined Burrow in 2016 as the co-founders were graduating from Y-Combinator and led all of the company’s growth initiatives through launch in April 2017.
As the VP of Ecommerce & Marketing, he brings a data-first approach to Burrow’s innovation, product development, ecommerce optimization, and strategic marketing and operations initiatives. Alex has a B.S. from Lehigh University and an M.B.A from The Wharton School. A lifelong Manchester United fan, Alex enjoys watching European football on the weekends with his wife, Ashley, and son, Kai.
Dawn Trenson is a seasoned ecommerce leader with in-depth knowledge of marketing, merchandising, operations and technology in the digital space. She is both strategic and tactical in her holistic approach to grow retail businesses balancing investments across product, marketing and technology.
Dawn has been responsible for managing and growing the ecommerce businesses for luxury omnichannel retailers including Henri Bendel, Steven Alan and INTERMIX.
Currently, Dawn leads ecommerce for FILA, a leading sport and leisure footwear and apparel brand that is distributed worldwide. She has in-depth knowledge of all facets of the dynamic digital space and truly embraces a ‘customer-first’ approach for all decision making with a passion for developing DTC growth strategies across assortment, marketing and online experience.
Hana Abaza is the Director of Global Marketing for Shopify Plus – the division of Shopify focused on the world’s largest and fastest-growing brands including Allbirds, Fashion Nova, Rebecca Minkoff, Kylie Cosmetics and thousands more.
Prior to joining Shopify, Hana led marketing and growth in a variety of industries with a proven track record for scaling teams, revenue and customers. Hana manages a full-stack, cross-functional team that works across every stage of the customer lifecycle, including Demand generation, product marketing, strategy and operations and content and creative.
Hana is also a seasoned speaker having keynoted at several industry conferences (including CTAConf, Growth Marketing Conf, SaaS North and others) and contributes to various publications (like Entrepreneur.com, CMO.com, Content Marketing Institute and others).
Jennifer Conklin is the sector lead for the Unified Commerce practice within the Consumer Products, Retail and Distribution Market Unit at Capgemini in North America.
Jennifer brings over 20 years of digital and commerce experience to help brands build world-class customer experiences for online retailers and branded manufacturers.
She is actively involved in the Chicago community as a Girl Scout Troop Leader.
Meghan Stabler is vice president of global product marketing and communications at BigCommerce, one of the world’s leading ecommerce companies. Meghan is a highly experienced business executive with deep experience in all aspects of marketing, product management, strategy and digital transformation.
Her background includes startup, pre- and post- IPO, turnaround and enterprise SaaS software firms. From cybersecurity to ecommerce, digital to mobile, Meghan has touched every aspect of today’s technology landscape. Meghan was previously a senior advisor at CA Technologies (acquired by Broadcom) and has held key leadership roles in several technology firms over the past two decades.
Mike is the Director of Amazon Brands Program & Selling Partner Development. In this core consumer business leadership role, Mike and his team build tools, create models and drive insights to empower Selling Partners worldwide to grow. The team also offers Selling Partners the ability to work with a team of paid Account Managers (AMs) through Strategic Account Services. Part of the work Mike’s team drives is the creation of software, tools, and other programs to ensure that Amazon’s customers are getting the best possible shopping experience, in particular from Brands selling direct to customer.
Mike originally joined Amazon in 2010 as an MBA intern and launched numerous successful businesses on Amazon including Handmade at Amazon. Mike moved into his current role in 2017. Prior to joining Amazon, Mike was in graduate school at the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon and the University of Arizona College of Law and is an active member of the WA state bar. Earlier in his career Mike launched new businesses and technology at Microsoft. He holds an undergraduate engineering degree from the University of Michigan, where he was the President of his class.
Scott Kelliher joined eBay in May of 2019 as Head of US Brand Ads & Partnerships. Scott is responsible for all advertising partnerships, overseeing all aspects of the business including Marketing, Partnership Development, and Operations.
Before eBay Advertising, Scott held leadership positions at Time Inc., Yahoo, and AOL where he guided business strategy and key client relationships across several categories. Most recently, he served as President of Sales and Marketing for the Tech, Telco and Auto verticals at Time Inc.
Through his work with some of the world’s most iconic brands, both on the publisher and client side, Scott has deep industry knowledge and keen insight into the complex world of digital advertising, data, and ad tech. He has a true passion for helping brands succeed.
A frequent speaker on panels and at industry events, Kelliher is a graduate of Bates College. Scott currently sits on the Board of Directors for Outthink.
